Writing Montana - A Collaborative Writing Workshop with Ben Larson

BEN LARSON - PHILLIPSBURG, MT  • MUSICIAN • COWBOY POET • AUTHOR • HISTORIAN

Don’t just listen, participate! "Writing Montana" - A Collaborative Writing Workshop

Montana folks may share the same geography, but we all experience our state a little differently. Cowboys, farmers, creatives, lifelong locals, and newcomers alike are invited to put words to the landscape and lifestyle that shape them.

Join Ben at the drawing board to learn his process of creating songs and poems, and create your own. No experience necessary.

After a short break, enjoy an interactive performance featuring Ben’s original songs, poems, and stories woven together by themes explored in the workshop.

BEN LARSON - NEW TALES FROM OLD MONTANA

Walking his own path between the traditions of western folk and interstellar honkytonk, Ben Larson’s original work tells the unvarnished stories of family and friends living in the modern rural west, tales from life on the road and words of wisdom compiled from years living outdoors and working with his hands. From his home in Philipsburg, Montana, Ben has self-published four music albums, three non-fiction books and two poetry compilations.

His music can be found on all streaming services, including his most recent release “New Tales From Old Montana.” In support of the album, Ben’s on a musical mission to bring his western folk music to all 56 counties of Montana 42 down, 14 to go!
